EU Right of Withdrawal
For customers in the European Union: your 14-day right to change your mind, and how it works.
This page applies specifically to consumers ordering from within the European Union, under the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU). It sets out a 14-day right of withdrawal that exists alongside — and for EU orders, takes precedence over — the general policy described on the Shipping & Returns page.
Your Right to Withdraw
If you are ordering as a consumer from within the EU, you have the right to withdraw from your order within 14 days, without giving any reason. The withdrawal period expires 14 days from the day you (or someone you nominate, other than the courier) receives physical possession of the goods.
To exercise this right, tell me clearly that you wish to withdraw before the 14 days are up. Use the form further down this page, or the Contact page — either way is fine, a plain message doing the same thing works just as well.
What Happens Next
Once you’ve told me you’re withdrawing, I’ll refund everything you paid — including the original delivery cost, aside from any extra you paid for faster shipping than my standard option — within 14 days. I’ll refund to the same payment method you used to pay, and it won’t cost you anything extra. I can hold off on the refund until the artwork is back with me, or until you’ve shown proof you’ve sent it, whichever happens first.
You’ll need to send the artwork back within 14 days of telling me you’re withdrawing — sending it before that deadline is enough, it doesn’t need to have arrived yet. Return shipping is at your own cost. Please pack it as carefully as it arrived; you’re responsible for any drop in value caused by handling beyond what’s reasonable to check the piece over.
What This Doesn’t Cover
Commissioned artwork made to your own brief is exempt from this right, as goods made to a consumer’s specifications. Standard Originals and Limited Edition Prints — pieces already made and offered for sale as they are — aren’t personalised to you, so they remain covered by the right above even though the general site policy elsewhere says returns aren’t accepted for change of mind. That general policy is written for customers outside the EU, where no equivalent legal cooling-off period applies.
